Aşağılık Kompleksi
Aşağılık Kompleksi,
Psikolog Alfred Adler tarafından ortaya atılmış olan bir kavramdır ve eksiklik duygusuna karşılık gelir. Bu perspektiften bakıldığında, eksiklik duygusu doğum ile birlikte başlar ve her insan bu duyguyu hayatının belli noktalarında hisseder. Özellikle çocukluk dönemlerinde bu his ağır basmaktadır.
İnsanlar da bu duygudan kurtulmak için kendilerince belli başlı yöntemler geliştirmektedir. Kişiler üstünlük çabasına girmekte, bu şekilde güçlenmeye çalışmaktadır. Bu bağlamda değerlendirildiğinde, aşağılık kompleksi olumlu anlamda geliştirilirse hem kişisel hem de toplumsal açıdan bireye kazanç sağlayabilir ve birey güçlenebilir. Fakat olumsuz anlamda geliştirilirse bireye yerleşir ve ileride daha büyük sorunlara yol açabilir.
Aşağılık Kompleksi neden olur?
Çocuğun temel ihtiyaçları, doğduğu andan itibaren belli bir yaşa gelene kadar bakım vereni tarafından karşılanır. Çocuk yeme, içme, giyinme gibi gereksinimlerini kendisi karşılayamaz ve anneye bağımlı şekilde büyür. Etrafında da bu ihtiyaçlarını kendi kendine karşılayabilen kişilerin farkına varmaya başladığı noktada da aşağılık kompleksi geliştirmeye başlar.
Aynı zamanda, bireyin yaşadığı kişisel deneyimler de yadsınamaz. Ebeveynin çocuğa karşı tutum ve davranışlarının da etkisinden söz edilebilir. Ailelerin çocuk yetiştirme sürecinde daha bilinçli davranmaları gerekmektedir. Aynı şekilde kardeş sıralamasının da bu noktada etkisinin büyük olduğu söylenebilir.
Aşağılık Kompleksine sahip bireylerin özellikleri nelerdir?
Birey kendisini diğerlerinden psikolojik ve fiziksel olarak daha zayıf görür. Çocukluk döneminde kişiye ebeveynleri tarafından üstlenemeyeceği sorumluluklar verilmişse, aşağılanmış ve yetenekleri göz ardı edilmişse, başarısız olduğu durumlarda da hakarete maruz kalıp cezalandırıldıysa bu hisse sahip olması kaçınılmazdır.
Çocuk da dolayısıyla kendisinde başarısız, yeteneksiz ve işe yaramaz gibi etiketlemeler yaparak, benlik algısını bu yönde geliştirmektedir. Kişide düşük özsaygı, utanç, umutsuzluk, korku gibi durumların temeli atılmakta ve kendisini sosyal çevresinden soyutlamaya başlamaktadır.
Bu kişiler rekabet olan ortamlardan uzak durmaya çalışırlar. Çekingen ve içe kapanık yapıları vardır. Aşağılık kompleksini kapatmak için üstünlük çabası içine girdikleri durumlarda ise, sürekli kendilerini ispat etmeye çalışırlar.
Zorbalık niteliğinde davranışlar gösterebilirler. Mükemmeliyetçi tutum sergilerler. Narsisistik kişilik yapısına sahip kişilerde görülme olasılığı yüksektir. Övülmeye ihtiyaç duyarlar.
Bir durumda başarısız olduklarında suçu başkalarına yıkma eğilimleri vardır ve sorumluluk kabul etmek istemezler. Eleştirilmekten hoşlanmazlar ama başkalarını kolayca eleştirirler, böylece kendi sorunlarını gizlemiş olurlar.
Aşağılık Kompleksi ve Ruhsal Bozukluklar
Bireylerin çocukluk döneminden getirmiş oldukları yanlış benlik algıları, yetişkinlik dönemlerinde depresyon olarak karşılarına çıkabilir. Yetersizlik, değersizlik gibi duygular kendini gösterebilir. Bir diğer durum ise sosyal fobidir. Bireyler sosyal ortamlardan, eleştirilerden kaçınma davranışları gösterebilirler. Bunun altında yatan sebep ise topluluk önünde ya da sosyal bir ortamda küçük düşeceği, rezil olacağı davranışlarda bulunma korkusudur. Çünkü çocukluk döneminde kendisine yapıştırılan etiketlemelerden kurtulamamıştır.
Mükemmeliyetçilik ile Baş Etmek
Terapi, mükemmeliyetçi tutumların daha sağlıklı bir düzeye dönüştürülmesine yardımcı olabilmektedir. Kendinize bu durumdan kurtulmak için aşağıdaki soruları sorabilirsiniz:
• Eğer bu olmazsa en kötü ne olabilir?
• Bu gerçekten ne kadar önemli?
• İşler istediğim gibi gitmezse ve en kötü şey gerçekleşirse bundan nasıl kurtulurum?
• Bu durum beni gelecekte, yarın ya da bir ay sonra, beni rahatsız edecek mi?
Ya da aşağıdaki adımları takip edebilirsiniz:
• Gerçekçi olmayan standartlar ve hedefler yerine daha ulaşılabilir olanları koyun.
• Hayatta her şeyi kontrol edemeyeceğinizi unutmayın.
• Hata yapmaktan korktuğunuz zaman herkesin hata yapabileceğini, kimsenin mükemmel olmadığını kendinize hatırlatın.
• Bazen size göre yeterince mükemmel olmayan bir şeyi deneyimleyin. Sonuçlarının sandığınız kadar kötü olmadığını fark edeceksiniz (ütüsüz bir gömlekle markete gidin ya da içinde bazı yazım hataları olan bir ödevi teslim edin)
