Anne Bebek Arasındaki Ten Teması
Doğumdan hemen sonra anne ile çocuğun ten teması, çocuğun ilk algıladığı dokunma duyusudur.
Bu dokunma duyusu, çocuk için kendini güvende hissetmesini, anne ile bağını anlamasını sağlar. Prematüre bebeklerle yapılan çalışmalarda; anne ile çocuk arasındaki ten temasının çocuğun daha beslenmesine, daha iyi uyumasına ve daha çabuk gelişmesine yarar sağladığını görülmüştür. Ayrıca, ten temasında bulunabilen çocuklar, yetişkinlik dönemlerinde daha az depresyon semptomu gösterir, daha az stres hormonu salgılar.
Anne çocuk arasındaki ten teması ile ebeveyn çocukla sadece fiziksel temasta bulunmakla kalmaz, bağını güçlendirerek daha iyi ilişkiler de kurar. Yapılan çalışmalar, normal ve sağlıklı doğan fakat bireysel olarak ilgi ve şefkat gösterilmeyen üç çocuktan birinin hayatını kaybettiğini göstermektedir. Yani çocuklar gerçek anlamda sevgiyle büyümekte, annenin varlığını hissetmeye ihtiyaç duymaktadır.
Ebeveynler bazen doğrusunun bu olduğunu düşünerek bazen de etrafındaki kişilerden bu şekilde duydukları için çocukları ağlama krizlerine girdiğinde, öfke patlamaları yaşadığında çocuklarını yok saymakta, başka odaya yollamakta, dolayısıyla duygularını yok saymaktadır. Duyguları kabul edilmeyen çocuk, kendini yetersiz, eksik veya hatalı olarak düşünebilir. Oysa çocuklar yalnız bırakılmaya değil, sevgiye, sarılmaya, ten temasına ve bağlanmaya ihtiyaç duyar. Anne ile bebek arasında sağlanan ten teması, sarılma ve kucakta sallama duyguları regüle etmenin bir yolu olarak kullanılır. Duyguların regüle edilebilme becerisi, bebek için tüm hayatı boyunca kullanabileceği bir beceri olarak kazanılmış olur.
Bebekler, ihtiyaçlarının karşılanması gerektiği zamanlarda bunu bildirmek için ağlama davranışında bulunur.
Ağlayan bebeğin stres seviyesi yükselir ve ihtiyaçları giderildiğinde tekrar stres seviyesi normal düzeye iner ve bebek sakinleşir. Fakat bebekler bazen yeme, uyku, tuvalet gibi ihtiyaçları karşılanmış olsa stres hissedip ağlamaya başlayabilir.
Ebeveynler bebeklerini kucaklarına alıp, yakın mesafede bulunduklarını hissettirdiklerinde, ritmik şekilde salladıklarında ve sakinleştirici ritmik sesler çıkardıklarında bebeklerin stres seviyeleri normal düzeye inmeye başlar.
“Harlow deneyi” olarak bilinen bir deney de anne bebek arasındaki ten temasının ve yakınlığın ne kadar önemli olduğunu bizlere göstermektedir. Bu deney maymunlar üzerinde gerçekleştirilen bir deney olup, deneyde telden yapılmış ve yumuşak bir maddeden yapılmış maymun anneler bulunmaktadır. Telden yapılmış maymun anne yavru maymunlara biberon ile süt verirken yumuşak maymun annelerde bir besin bulunmamaktadır. Yavru maymunlar, besinlerini almak için telden yapılmış maymuna gitseler de onun dışında yumuşak maymunun yanına gitmektedir. Sonuç olarak, deneyden de anlaşılacağı üzere anne ile temasın sebebi sadece annenin besin sağlaması kaynaklı değildir. Yavruların asıl ihtiyacı olan şey, annenin sıcak, şefkatli ve yumuşak yaklaşımıdır.
