Mükemmeliyetçilik
Mükemmeliyetçilik, bireylerin mükemmel olanın ulaşılabilir olduğuna dair inançlarını besleyen ve mükemmel olana ulaşmanın bir ihtiyaç olduğunu hatırlatan duygu, düşünce ve davranışlar bütünüdür.
Bu sebeple mükemmeliyetçi bireyler bazen hataların yapılabileceğine, performansın ve başarının her daim en üst düzeyde olamayabileceğine, bazı hedeflerin gerçekçi olmadığına inanmakta güçlük çekerler. Çoğu birey mükemmeliyetçiliğin hedeflere ulaşmak konusunda önemli bir duygu olduğuna inansa da mükemmeliyetçilik ve elinden gelenin en iyisini yapma çabası aynı şeyler değildir.
Mükemmeliyetçilik ve En İyisini Hedeflemek
Mükemmeliyetçilik duygusu çoğu zaman bireylerin mutsuz hissetmesine sebep olur ve hayatlarını birçok alanda olumsuz etkiler. Bu durumdaki bireyler;
Doğal olarak yerine getirmesi imkânsız veya çok zor olan bu hedefler ve sorumluluklar kişinin kaygı düzeyini arttırır ve bireyde yetersizlik duygusu oluşturur. Ve sonuç olarak bireyler elde ettiklerinden tatmin olamazlar. Sağlıklı mükemmeliyetçilik diyebileceğimiz en iyisini yapma çabasına sahip bireyler kendilerine uygun hedefler belirler ve bu hedefler için planlı, yüksek motivasyonlu bir çalışma sergiler. Yolunda gitmeyen şeyler olduğunda ise kendisini suçlamaz, en iyisi için uğraştığını ancak bazen işlerin yolunda gitmeyebileceğini kendine hatırlatır ve kendisine karşı affedici olur. Küçük kusurların olumlu şeylerin önüne geçmesine izin vermez. Böylece bireylerin zorlukların üstesinden gelmesi kolaylaşır ve başarıya ulaşma ihtimalleri artar.
Mükemmeliyetçiliğin Nedenleri ve Sonuçları
Mükemmeliyetçiliğin ortaya çıkmasında genetik, mizaç, mükemmeliyetçilik eğilimi yüksek bir ailede yetişmiş olmak ya da böyle bireylerden oluşan bir çevrede bulunmak gibi sosyal ve çevresel faktörler etkili olabilir. Bu mükemmeliyetçi davranışlar bireyin çevresi tarafından ödüllendiriliyorsa mükemmeliyetçilik kaçınılmaz hale gelebilir. Mükemmeliyetçilik hissi sebebiyle ortaya çıkan en yaygın psikolojik rahatsızlıklar kaygı bozuklukları, depresyon ve uyku problemleridir.
